BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A temporary “warming center” is open in downtown Bellingham.
Whatcom County officials opened the shelter in the Whatcom County Public Works building, across from the library and City Hall at 322 North Commercial Street.
Though the shelter has no bedding, it is open nightly, offering hot beverages and a roof to men experiencing homelessness.
The County reports Fountain Community Church has room for women and there’s still room for both sexes at the Lighthouse Mission.
