BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bellingham City Council member Pinky Vargas has announced she’s running for mayor.
In a short clip on her Facebook page Vargas says she’ll focus on the local economy, homelessness, housing and the environment.
She has represented Bellingham’s 4th Ward on the City Council since 2014 and in 2018 lost a close 42nd District State Senate race to incumbent Doug Ericksen.
Mayor Kelli Linville recently announced that she won’t be running for a third term.
