OLYMPIA, Wash. — New 42nd District State Representative Sharon Shewmake’s first bill has passed the House unanimously.

The Democrat says consumers currently don’t know where the electricity they use was produced and whether it comes from clean sources or fossil fuels.

She says her bill will help utilities keep better track of their sources and make that information available to the public in a simple format.

The bill now goes to the Senate.
