BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Construction work is underway at Lake Padden Park.
Crews are upgrading sewer systems around the east side of the park, where the City of Bellingham says they’ll be trenching for new sewer lines extending through the ball fields and along Lakeshore Drive to Samish Way.
Project engineer Larry Scholten tells KGMI the work should not significantly impact access and parking, though there may be occasional traffic control and obstructed parking spots.
He says the plan is to keep one of the two affected restrooms open with portable toilets available as well.
