BELLIGHAM, Wash. — Another familiar name will be on the ballot this upcoming election.
Natalie McClendon, former chair of the Whatcom Democrats and current member of the Whatcom County Planning Commission, has announced she’s running for the Whatcom County Council District 5 seat.
That district mostly encompasses the area west of I-5 outside of Bellingham, including Lummi Island, Ferndale, Custer, and Birch Bay.
Meanwhile, Bellingham City Council member Terry Bornemann says on his Facebook that after serving twenty years he won’t be running for another term.
He says he’s proud of the council’s accomplishments during his tenure, including preserving the city’s unique neighborhoods and establishing a thriving music and arts district.
