OLYMPIA, Wash. — A representative from Skagit County is among a group of Republicans calling for urgent action on homelessness, affordable housing and behavioral health.

Five Washington state senators, including Keith Wagoner from Sedro-Woolley, will host a news conference Friday in Olympia to address these issues as well as the drug addiction crisis.

The conference will focus on expectations for the 2019 state budget, as well as Republican legislation to strengthen behavioral health, create work programs for unemployed homeless, expand low-income housing options and encourage rural development.
