ANACORTES, Wash. — Shoppers in Anacortes will be paying a bit more in sales tax starting in April.
The sales tax will increase two-tenths of one percent to help pay for transportation services.
It now sits at 8.7 percent.
The Department of Revenue says Anacortes is one of a number of cities and counties in Western Washington that will see slight sales tax increases on Monday.
Tacoma and Shoreline will both see increases to 10.2 percent, while Marysville will have an increase to 9.3 percent, and Arlington and Stanwood will go to 9.2 percent.
