RICHLAND, Wash. — An upcoming biopic will focus on the ups and downs of controversial soccer goalie Hope Solo.
Director Christine Crokos tells Deadline Hollywood the Richland native’s story is inspirational and calls Solo a “force of nature who broke down walls in women’s sports” fighting for equal pay and rights.
The movie will also cover the controversies surrounding the soccer star including her 2014 assault arrest that was later dropped and her dismissal from the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team for calling the Swedish team “a bunch of cowards.”
At this time, the movie doesn’t have a title or release date and it’s not yet known who will play her in the film.
