MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Dumping trash in Skagit County is getting a little more expensive.
The Skagit County Solid Waste Division took on a rate study to ensure their system can keep up with increasing disposal, labor and maintenance costs.
Starting June 3, disposing of garbage at Skagit County’s three transfer stations will jump from $89/ton to $97/ton and the minimum dumping charge will increase to $14.
Those rates will increase annually until 2023.
