KELSO, Wash. (AP) — After last month’s tragedy in Kittitas County, another Washington state law enforcement officer has been shot and killed in the line of duty.
KIRO reports 29-year-old Cowlitz County Deputy Justin DeRosier wash shot and killed while responding to a report of a disabled vehicle Saturday night.
Sheriff Brad Thurman says the death is believed to be the first for an officer in the line of duty in the history of the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office.
DeRosier graduated from Kelso High in 2008 and from WSU with a degree in Criminal Justice.
He is survived by his wife and infant daughter.
