FERNDALE, Wash. — The Ferndale School Board says they’ve chosen Dykeman Architects to design the new high school.
Everett-based Dykeman has worked on other school projects including Sehome High School, Whatcom Middle School and other schools around the Pacific Northwest.
Ferndale Superintendent Dr. Linda Quinn says the design will reflect Ferndale’s conservative values and be “sturdy and economical, not frivolous and fancy.”
The new school will also be high-tech and support modern tools and technologies.
Ferndale just barely passed the school bond in February with 62% of the vote.
School bonds need a 60% supermajority to pass and the Ferndale School Board put the $112 million bond before voters several times as the need for a new high school grew.
