BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A former professional football player who once ran fitness camps and youth football programs in Bellingham received a sentence of fifteen years to life in prison for killing his wife in Utah.
48-year-old Anthony Darnel McClanahan, who played for WSU in the early 90’s, was charged with killing his wife, Keri, in November 2017, less than a year after they were married.
Keri, who was from Bellingham, was found dead with defensive wounds and cuts to her neck at a condo in Park City, Utah.
Fox13 of Salt Lake City reports the defense attorney argued McClanahan was remorseful but the judge didn’t believe it for a minute, saying he expects McClanahan to spend life in prison.
