FERNDALE, Wash. — It looks like Ferndale schools will get increased state funding for transportation this year.
The Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction gave the Ferndale School District Transportation Department an efficiency score of 100% using an analysis called the Student Transportation Allocation Reporting System (STARS).
The program is used to distribute operations funding for school district transportation as well as provide an evaluation of relative efficiency.
The efficiency ratings are based on student ridership and other transportation data from the previous school year.
