MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A Snapchat video led to the arrest of five teens suspected of assault and vandalism totaling nearly $3,000 in Mount Vernon.
Lieutenant Greg Booth reports that through the night of Sunday, April 14th, at least seventeen locations within the City of Mount Vernon were vandalized with blue spray paint consistent with criminal street gang tagging.
One of the suspects was identified after an officer was alerted to a Snapchat video showing a student being assaulted by several subjects, who were later linked to the graffiti spree.
Police arrested the five juveniles between the ages of 14 and 17 and charged them with crimes including assault and malicious mischief.
