OAK HARBOR, Wash. — Deception and Canoe Pass bridges are getting a new paint job.

Starting Monday, contractor crews will begin a two-year repainting and repair project to take care of corrosion and treat the bridge.

WSDOT says work shouldn’t affect daytime traffic much, but Whidbey Island travelers and Deception Pass State Park visitors should plan for delays during the night.

All lanes will be open during the day, but between the hours of 8 PM-6 AM, SR-20 over the bridges will be a single lane with alternating traffic.
