BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Police are investigating a possible act of arson that occurred on Western Washington University’s campus last Saturday.
The university’s Director of Communications, Paul Cocke, says University Police were notified of a fire on the outside of the Environmental Studies building right before midnight on Saturday, May 4.
The fire was put out and responding officers said it appeared a poster on the outside wall of the building had been intentionally burned.
The poster was advertising a lecture by a speaker from a pro-life group.
Cocke says the fire caused approximately $500 worth of damage to the building wall.
The incident received national media attention, being covered by both Campus Reform and Breitbart News.
