SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. — The Cascade River Road off Highway 20 is now open to vehicles.
The road provides access to popular hiking trails and climbing routes in the North Cascades, such as Cascade Pass and Horseshoe Basin.
The National Park Service closes Cascade River Road seasonally due to unsafe conditions and the agency says they opened the road two months earlier than normal this year.
Travelers can still expect snow in the high country.
