BELLINGHAM, Wash. — With 13,000 people expected to descend on Civic Stadium for Saturday’s Double Major concert, transportation will be an issue in Bellingham.
Maureen McCarthy with the Whatcom Transportation Authority says they’re adding buses to fixed routes that run to the Civic complex from the WWU campus and the downtown station on Railroad Avenue.
Concertgoers can hop aboard the Yew Street, Sunset, Sudden Valley, Electric Avenue, or Lincoln Street routes to get to Civic Stadium, and extra buses will be running after the show.
With lots of bike parking available at the stadium, riding a bike to the show is a smart option.
Lane closures on I-5 beginning Saturday afternoon will also be another challenge for drivers.
