BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A diverse slate of candidates for local and state offices face voters in the upcoming primary.
Current Whatcom County Council member Satpal Sidhu and former member Tony Larson are among candidates for County Executive.
Longtime councilmember Barbara Brenner withdrew her name from consideration for the District 4 seat while former member Kathy Kershner is making another run.
Carol Frazey is currently serving a partial term and is running for a full term in an at-large position.
She’s challenged by former KGMI announcer Brett Bonner and others.
Former County and City Council member Seth Fleetwood, and current City Council members Pinky Vargas and April Barker, are among those vying for Bellingham Mayor.
And current Whatcom County Council member Rud Browne is among six candidates running for State Senator in the 40th District.
He challenges incumbent Liz Lovelett (D), along with Republicans Michael Petrish and Daniel Miller, and Democrats Greta Aitken and Carrie Blackwood.
