SEATTLE, Wash. — The Canadian Coast Guard is teaming up with the U.S. Coast Guard to conduct an on-water pollution response drill in the Strait of Juan de Fuca from May 22-23.

The Coast Guard deployed oil spill response equipment near Port Angeles Wednesday, which the agency says may be visible from the shore.

They’ll be using a non-toxic dye in the water to engage responders as they simulate on-water recovery operations, with a wildlife expert on-hand to monitor for animals.
