BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Though it’s no UC Berkeley or UC Santa Cruz, Bellingham’s Western Washington University isn’t far behind in liberal dominance.
College research website Niche.com ranked college and university liberalism based upon student reviews of the schools’ campus communities, weighing the political leanings of the reviewer, and the reviewer’s attendance and opinion of the school.
WWU ranked #27 on the list of 687 schools.
The University of Washington was the highest ranked in the state at #20, Seattle University was ranked 55, and Evergreen State College came in at 73.
Whitman College in Walla Walla was the only other Washington school on the list, with a ranking of 97.
