MOUNT BAKER, Wash. — Snow clearing work is done and as of Sunday morning, the last stretch of the Mount Baker Highway up to Artist Point is open.
WSDOT says this is the second earliest opening in 20 years.
The road to Artist Point typically opens in July and stays open until the first substantial snowfall of the year, which usually comes in late September or early October.
If #NationalDoughnutDay didn't have you excited… The road to Artist Point on SR 542 will open for the season at 8 a.m. Sunday, June 9!
