ARLINGTON, Wash. — An Arlington man was sentenced to three years in prison for sexually abusing a minor and possessing child pornography.
After his release James C. Overton has fifteen years of supervised release.
The Department of Justice says 36-year-old Overton admitted in January that he took advantage of and groomed a 13-year-old girl for two years before taking her to Olympic National Park when she was 15 and having her engage in sexual conduct.
A search of Overton’s home and digital devices revealed more than 100 images of child porn that Overton had tried to delete and investigators say he admitted to having sexual conversations with other 12-to-15-year-old girls online while trying to convince them to send him explicit videos or photos.
