BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A grant from a local bank will help support Northwest Youth Services’ operation of the Ground Floor, a day center for homeless and at-risk youth.
Peoples Bank awarded NYS $25,000 which the agency says will go toward improvements to the basement of the First Congregational Church on Cornwall where it’s located.
The Ground Floor opened in January this year to support those aged 13-24, providing them with basic needs items while also offering resources to help them end their homelessness.
The organization is the first in the area dedicated specifically to at-risk, homeless and runaway youth.
