FRIDAY HARBOR, Wash. — All ferry service in and out of Friday Harbor was suspended for hours Monday while authorities investigated a bomb threat.

State Patrol Trooper Heather Axtman said someone found a note in the bathroom of the Elwha while sailing to Friday Harbor around 2:00 PM.

She says they don’t know how long the note had been there, but the ferry was promptly evacuated once they reached their destination and all service was halted.

Bomb techs and canines were called in to investigate.

The Elwha was cleared for service again around four hours later, but it’s not clear if anything was found.
