SEATTLE, Wash. — A Marysville man convicted of leading a gift card fraud ring was sentenced Monday to five years in prison.
Jeffery Douglas Mann was arrested last year after defrauding Target and its customers of more than $700,000 using a system to decipher gift card numbers and drain the contents.
Mann led a group of five people who spent these fraudulent gift cards in at least five states, including Washington.
Target modified its gift cards after the fraud was discovered and reimbursed customers.
Four of his co-conspirators are either in prison or federal drug court.
Mann pled guilty in March.
