BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Whatcom County Council voted to extend an emergency moratorium on exporting unrefined fossil fuels from Cherry Point at its meeting Tuesday night.

This is the seventh time the council has extended the moratorium aimed at regulating those exports.

The vote was 5-1 with Barbara Brenner against and Tyler Byrd absent.

The council did not take action on an ordinance regulating temporary homeless facilities or encampments, pushing consideration of it to the July 23rd meeting.
