BELLINGHAM, Wash. — You can ride the bus free of charge Thursday and Friday of this week.
Whatcom Transportation Authority is offering free rides on all buses, except those serving the route to Mt. Vernon, for a day in support of Project Homeless Connect.
Project Homeless Connect and other charities are holding a community event at Bellingham High School that will provide medical care, legal services, education planning and more to people experiencing homelessness in Whatcom County.
The event is based on a national model which has been used successfully in more than 170 cities across the nation.
