BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Construction of a bike park is underway on Bellingham’s waterfront.
The Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition says on its Facebook that dirt is being hauled in for a 20,000-square-foot pump track and a “singletrack sidewalk.”
A pump track is a course of hills and curves where riders don’t pedal and pump their bodies up and down to gain momentum.
The coalition says they’ll be needing volunteers to help with construction in coming weeks.
One way to sign up for volunteering is to contact them through this page on their website.
