OLYMPIA, Wash. — Yesterday we reported that credit reporting bureau Equifax has agreed to pay $425 million in restitution to people as part of a settlement for a massive data breach in 2017.

But are you entitled to any of that money?

Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s office says people can apply for reimbursement of money lost because of unauthorized withdrawals from accounts, expenses to avoid or recover from identity theft and other costs.

They say that claims can be submitted by visiting www.equifaxbreachsettlement.com, which is currently waiting on a court order before taking any submissions.

It may take some time before you see any money as the restitution and claims process is still up for court approval.
