BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom County firefighters teamed up with Coast Guard personnel to rescue a couple who became stranded on rocks at Larrabee State Park Monday night.
They apparently were stranded on an outcropping when the tide came in.
According to a Facebook post by the U.S. Coast Guard Station Bellingham, South Whatcom firefighters launched an inflatable raft from their response boat to enter the shallow water in Wildcat Cove.
They safely brought the stranded couple aboard and returned to shore.
The South Whatcom Fire Authority reminds people to keep track of tides and your surroundings when in the Chuckanut area as conditions can change quickly.
