SHELTON, Wash. — The State Patrol just welcomed four young pups to its K-9 team in an effort to protect Washington’s ferry system.

K-9s Gordy, Nelly, Hashbrown and Nova are the newest four-legged officers keeping Washington safe in one of the largest non-federal K-9 programs in the country.

The Washington State Patrol welcomed these new explosives detection dogs Wednesday morning, making them official WSP employees.

They will be deployed throughout the Puget Sound region to support and protect the Washington State Ferry system and its passengers.
