DES MOINES, Wash. (AP) — A Renton police officer has been arrested after a woman said he assaulted her.

KOMO-TV reports Des Moines Police arrested the officer Saturday for second-degree assault with sexual motivation, but he is no longer in custody.

The woman told police the man asked her to meet him at a park where he hit her after encouraging her to drink wine and telling her to remove her clothes.

The officer has denied the assault and claims the woman was a confidential informant.

Neither the officer or the woman have been identified.
