BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Some Bellingham Christian School students have a few extra days of summer vacation due to recent vandalism to the school.
Vandals broke into the school’s gym one night in late July and sprayed fire extinguishers, smeared food, scrawled graffiti and stole equipment.
Damage totaled a quarter of a million dollars.
The school says on its website that repairs are well underway, but classes at the Sunset Campus for K through 6th grade students will start one week late on September 10th.
Some other changes are being made to the school calendar.
The Bellingham Police Department says two girls, ages 14 and 15, were identified as suspects and have been arrested and booked into Whatcom Juvenile Detention.
