OKANAGAN COUNTY, Wash. — An assistant chief with an Okanogan fire district was severely burned while fighting a wildfire south of Okanogan Monday.
Public Lands Commissioner Hilary Franz says Christian Johnson was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in very serious condition.
KING 5 reports he was burned over more than half of his body and he is in a medically induced coma.
Details about how he was injured haven’t been released.
