SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. — The Sedro-Woolley school district is considering options to expand.
Superintendent Phil Brockman told the Skagit Valley Herald they’re getting more students every year and it’s time to address the future of the school district.
The Sedro-Woolley School District tried and failed twice to get voters to approve a bond proposal that would allow it to build a new Evergreen Elementary School.
Now, they’re looking at other options to address aging facilities and increasing enrollment.
One option would be to move sixth graders from elementary school to Cascade Middle School, which would free up elementary classrooms but would not address future growth needs.
Another is to build two new elementary schools in the district and a third option is to combine the two, building one new elementary school and bumping sixth graders up to middle school.
