SUMAS, Wash. — A Bronc rider was seriously injured at the Bull-A-Rama event at the Sumas Rodeo Grounds Saturday night.
Jerry DeBruin with Whatcom Fire District 14 says the rider from Eastern Washington was thrown from a horse which then stomped on his chest.
DeBruin treated the man at the scene and says he suffered internal injuries and was in obvious distress.
Crews transported him to Peacehealth St. Joseph Medical Center.
His identity and condition have not been released.
