SEATTLE, Wash. — Western Washington may have a warmer-than-normal winter.
The Washington State Department of Transportation says they’re preparing for the potential for more rain than snow this year, which is consistent with the latest long-range weather forecast.
According to KOMO News, the department ordered more than 97,000 tons of salt and sand materials and they recently purchased more than 9,000 tons of liquid deicer.
That’s the same amount they bought last year.
The DOT says they’re preparing for another big snowstorm in the lowlands this year, just in case.
