MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — The family medicine residency program at Skagit Regional Health is ending.

According to the Skagit Valley Herald, the program designed to train new primary care doctors is ending due to changing education requirements that administrators can’t meet.

Skagit Regional Health has accepted 4-6 med school graduates into the program each year since 2012, making it a reliable source of primary care doctors in the county.

It’s the only family medicine residency program in Skagit and Whatcom counties.
