BIRCH BAY, Wash. — Whatcom County is planning ahead for winter storms with improvements on Birch Bay Drive.

Iverson Earth Works will be working to improve drainage along Birch Bay Drive between Holeman Avenue and Point Whitehorn Road.

They’ll be replacing aging storm pipe with 3,000 feet of new pipe, installing new catch basins, and constructing a new outfall off Point Whitehorn Road.

Work is set to begin Monday and Whatcom County expects it to continue for about 9 weeks.

Traffic will often be reduced to one lane with flaggers on site, so you can expect minor delays there.
