ANACORTES, Wash. — The Coast Guard is working to remove a boat that ran aground Tuesday near Anacortes.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Michael Clark told the Skagit Valley Herald they believe the boat drifted unmanned after it became unanchored and ran into a jetty near the Cap Sante Marina.

He says 30 gallons of fuel are on the boat and they’re taking precautions to prevent environmental impacts.

The Coast Guard has contracted a commercial dive and salvage company to deploy a boom and secure the boat for removal.
