CUSTER, Wash. — Three family members were arrested in Birch Bay Tuesday after they allegedly stole goods valued at over $5000 from a residence in Custer.
Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo says deputies responded to the report of an interrupted burglary of a residence in the 3600 block of Birch Terrace Drive on September 16.
A homeowner came home from work to see an unknown woman sitting on his porch who said she was “waiting for a friend” before leaving.
The home had been ransacked and numerous items were missing, including firearms, ammunition, tools, TV equipment and clothes.
All of the missing items were later found stashed around the property.
Investigators identified suspects Joshua, Danny and Michelle Stroud of Blaine and booked them into the Whatcom County Jail.
