MAPLE FALLS, Wash. — A warning about space heaters as cooler weather settles in.
Whatcom Fire District 14 is sharing a warning on Facebook from an Oregon fire district to never plug a space heater into a power strip.
The Umatilla County Fire District says power strips aren’t designed to carry the high energy flow space heaters draw and can melt down and start a fire.
The district shared a picture of a melted power strip that had been used to power a space heater.
