BLAINE, Wash. — The City of Blaine is hoping to establish a no shooting zone in Drayton Harbor.

The Blaine City Council passed a resolution this summer seeking a no shooting zone encompassing all of the aquatic areas and tidelands within the harbor.

According to The Northern Light, the proposal is meant to address residents’ concerns about gunfire near homes and property during waterfowl hunting season, which typically runs October through January.

The Whatcom County Council will hold a public meeting at Whatcom County Courthouse, 311 Grand Avenue, Bellingham at 7 PM on Tuesday, October 8th.
