MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A Skagit County lumbermill that’s a victim of the ongoing trade dispute between the United States and China has pushed back its closing date.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports Northwest Hardwoods will close their mill in Mount Vernon on November 20 rather than November 8th.
The mill on Farm to Market Road employs 70 people who will be laid off indefinitely.
The company, which says it’s the world’s largest supplier of hardwood, will also close a mill in Virginia.
