MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A Mount Vernon man was convicted Tuesday of killing his girlfriend and beheading her in front of their young daughter.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports in a bench trial, the judge found 33-year-old Timothy Paul Hernandez guilty of murdering Vanessa Cons in August 2018.
Hernandez made comments to investigators after the murder that God had told him to kill Cons, but he was found competent to stand trial.
He’s set to be sentenced October 23.
