BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Bellingham Task Force is holding a meeting Wednesday at 6:30 at Bellingham City Hall to discuss potentially requiring residents to switch to energy-efficient appliances.

The Climate Action Task Force is a group of community members with experience in fields like renewable energy, energy conservation, land use and economics with a goal to help Bellingham reach 100% renewable energy goals.

According to meeting notes from June 2019, the program would require existing and new homeowners in the city to ditch gas-burning space and water heating systems and upgrade to electric.
