BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A local dog rescue organization is one of 37 Washington non-profits named “2019 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by charity review site Great Nonprofits.
Poi Dog Rescue was chosen based on the rating and number of reviews received from volunteers, donors, and aid recipients on the Great Nonprofits website.
The Bellingham organization partners with the Hawaii Island Humane Society to help shelter dogs from Hawaii find new homes in Washington State.
Poi Dog Rescue is funded by grants from the Holland Family Foundation, donations from adopting families, volunteer time and donations from individuals and businesses.
