The Coast Guard has given up the search for a man missing near Lummi Island.
53-year-old Nick Saling was reported missing at about 11:30am Monday morning, October 21.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound were notified by the man’s sister who said he did not return Sunday night after a sailing trip to Cypress Island.
Saling’s 25-foot yellow sailboat has been located northeast of Lummi Island.
Coast Guard crews searched over 360 square nautical miles for about 15 hours before calling off the search.
