EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — The city of Everett is considering installing traffic cameras that would help them enforce driving laws.
The Everett Herald reports that the city council is studying the proposal for red-light cameras.
Cameras would take photos of rear license plates and record short videos before police review footage and send tickets to violators in the mail.
This is the second time Everett has considered the system.
The initiative to install the cameras was first authorized in 2009, but the city lost interest after the project was delayed due to a legal challenge.
